Description
This fully restored, upgraded and stunning example is quite possibly the best example this side of a brand new JME Healey. With only 41,595 miles from new, fully documented and known ownership from 1955, there isn’t anything amiss with this wonderful car. We have invoices dating back to 1989, with history about the original owners and early life also present and as per the car’s outstanding appearance, it has received a wealth of restoration and upgrades during this time. Body and chassis, engine, interior, hood and mechanicals, nothing has been missed and it really shows in how it drives and presents.
The car now runs a Dennis Welch cylinder head, so is prepared for the modern fuels and also produces more than the 95bhp it was rolling road tested at beforehand, which really shows when on the road. A joy to look at and a joy to drive. It has been a childhood dream just to be able to drive this car, so I’m completely I’m love with it. Plenty of space for tall occupants, smooth and comfortable, it ticks a lot of boxes a lot better than many of the big GT cars of the era, whilst having performance to keep up with the best in the business. Especially with the overdrive, it cruises beautifully at pace.
On the road you’ll garner admiring glances and you’ll revel in that big inline four’s butch and throaty grumble. Gear shifts are smooth through the original 3 speed manual, with overdrive on 3rd working just so. The steering is also nimble and poised. Having had some recent work with us here at HPC Classics to make sure that the car is in perfect condition, you simply won’t find fault in how this delightful car drives, the only thing we cannot guarantee is the weather, although we implore you come and test on our beautiful local roads, we get the very best of the weather here!

Technical specification
Having had an extensive restoration over the past years, the car presents very well indeed, a new hood, tonneau cover, paintwork, detailed engine bay during the rebuild process, the diff has been rebuilt and there is almost a receipt for every possible item, everything down to the heritage certificate is just as you’d expect it to be and that shows when driving the car. During the rebuild it has been upgraded to 100M spec too, which will please those of you wishing to push the car in the manner it was designed to be all of those years ago. The car has an alloy bonnet, rear deck and front end, with steel outer panels and doors.
We have overhauled the rear brakes, set up the idle and balanced the carbs to ensure that it is running beautifully for its new custodian. The car has been fully machine polished and valeted so that you’re able to drive it off and attend any show with pride.
