The most beautiful car ever made? An easy statement to argue as it is so subjective, but when backed by a powerhouse such as Enzo Ferrari, it is hard to argue really & just look at it! We all know the plus two may not be the pinnacle, but it is eminently more useable when you have a family, that much is certain. It is also a very good value stepping stone and a more affordable entry into what could possibly be the most iconic car ever designed and manufactured of all time.

This particular example is finished in a stunning colour combination, with a recent restoration to the body and paintwork, along with an engine rebuild to boot, so it presents wonderfully and drives it too! Hop in and the completely original interior takes you back to a time when aesthetics ruled over all, the iconic Smiths gauges giving you the “Goodwood Revival” feeling, THAT steering wheel dominating what is already a beautiful interior. So original, patinated, but retaining all of its stories and fun it has clocked up over the years, which we really like.

Peering over the elongated and curvy bonnet, it is obvious you are sat in a very special place and not all E-Types give you this privileged feeling, this one is special… Flick the key and she starts first turn. Pop the auto box into drive and you have a swift, refined, comfortable cruiser, that looks a thousand times better than any modern car could ever dream to. You will be ushered out of junctions, waved at, smiled at and given the thumbs up wherever you go.

On the road, the car behaves exactly as you’d hope, smooth delivery of power from the creamy smooth, double overhead cam straight six, complimented by almost imperceivable gear changes from the auto box and with upgraded Cooper Craft brakes, the car even slows down like a modern car too. A lovely burble from the exhaust and you have the complete package. A car that would be welcomed and appreciated anywhere it went.

So, let’s start with the number of previous owners, shall we? One. Yes, that’s right, one previous owner. The absolute dream, to find a car that has been loved and cared for to such an extent. Its first local owner had it in his custody for 34 years and only sold it on due to health problems preventing him from using the car as often as he would like, its current custodian then took ownership in 2003 and has loved it ever since! He is now unfortunately only selling it for the same reasons, as it won’t get used enough, a true petrolhead through and through, you couldn’t ask for a better owner to be passed the reins by!

The first owner decided after around 20 years of ownership that he would change the colour from silver to the blue you see it in today, albeit that it was resprayed and the body refreshed, along with a fresh engine build during the period of 2018 – 2020 (Covid not allowing progress at points)… So, the correct colour is also showing on the logbook. The car is complete with a full history file, owners booklets, invoices and a full folder of history with old MOTs dating back to 1975, it is only missing the original service booklet. We even have the heritage certificate for the car in the file. To have this provenance really stands in its favour a very strong history indeed.

Having had thousands spent in the past few years, the car really is in fabulous shape and a very healthy bet as your first classic car / your first E-Type. In preparation for sale and to align with HPC’s stringent requirements, the car has had a few jobs done to make sure it is ready for its new owner. We have rebuilt the carbs, rolling road tuned the car, to make sure that you are getting the best from it, flat & polished the paintwork. An ignition overhaul, plugs, points, distributor cap and rotor arm. Plus, the standard general check over that all our cars receive to make sure that you can drive away happily in your new car the very same day.

It is time for this wonderful car to find its next long term owner, it deserves to be loved and used in the same manner that its previous custodians have, a true testament to just how nice a car can be when owned by the right people.
