1996 Porsche 911 Targa - Manual

The 993, needs no introduction, the last air cooled 911, the halo car, the ultimate classic Porsche. Useable, with mod cons, comfortable, tractable and beyond anything else, bedroom wall poster cool!

 

The Targa we have here (hard to tell in person from a coupe), has all of the adornments and factory options to make it something totally different and completely drool worthy. A Techart aero kit, factory hardback seats, sound package for that classic induction roar, RS style wheels shod with brand new PS4 tyres all round, modified back boxes, but supplied with originals if desired, the car not only looks the part, it sounds it too.

 

On the road this car proves itself with ease, incredibly smooth and accessible power, precision that only a Porsche front end can give, with ridiculous braking power as ever with a 911, part of their mission statement. Even though the car has more mileage than others, its huge history file backs up just how well it drives, zero issues, faults or flaws, unlike a lot of low mileage cars that need loads of work in order for them to be used and enjoyed, this is a proper turn-key show stopper that you won’t be afraid to use. Paintwork is phenomenal for a car of its age, with very few blemishes. It is in a rare colour combination, with the desirable manual gearbox, as most Targa’s came from the factory with the automatic, dampening its performance somewhat.

As mentioned, this car has a huge number of upgrades, all adding to its marvellous aesthetic. All of the original parts are available still by negotiation too, so if originality is key, then you can always revert to original spec. Even the Targa wheels and cupholders in the centre console etc… can be put back to original too should the new owner so desire. It also came with the sound pack and rear wiper, plus the very rare colour coded hardback seats, normally found in the Turbos.

 

The car comes with one of the most comprehensive service histories you’re ever likely to find, a box file completely full of invoices and a service book with 23 stamps in it, all from Porsche and specialists throughout. The car has a certificate of authenticity from Porsche, to show that it is still in its original colours and that the options you see today are as it left the factory, barring the aero kit and wheels. It has even seen celebrity ownership too!

 

To prove just how healthy the car is, there is even a rolling road print out from 2018 showing it putting out a very healthy 277bhp!
