If ever there was a car to break the mould, it would be the E31. From it’s M1 Procar inspired kidney grilles and pop-up headlamps, through the pillarless coupe lines to the quad tail pipes, this car was designed to be the best GT car on the road, regardless of who else was manufacturing high end cars. With every optional extra you could ask for, extended leather and build quality to rival the best in the business, the E31 really is an intercontinental cruiser of the highest order.
On the road this car drives and handles so well, you wouldn’t believe the mileage, a true testament to how well it was built and how well it has been maintained over the years. Acceleration also feels more impressive than the raw numbers would state. It really does move for such a big comfy GT car.
With only 3,075 built of the 4.4 litre ci, the one to have as it is as punchy as the v12 and lacks the reliability issues of the 4.0 Nikasil lined engines.
I personally chose this car as I have always wanted a calypso red E31 since I was 4 years old. I’m sure you’ll agree that this is still to this day striking and simply stunning. Sitting pretty on its original BBS split rims, to me this is the ultimate colour combination. It has the sportier three spoke steering wheel, which really finishes the interior nicely when compared to the 4 spoke variant.
The car has full-service history to back up its mileage, well presented inside its own folder, with the original book pack present too.
The car has been subject to much recent expenditure in the last 5 years and it really shows. With the suspension rebuilt and polybushed, there is no wandery and vague front end that shimmies at speed, which are associated with E31’s and E38’s, it is tight and precise. It has had a paint job, which looks fabulous. We have also just machine polished the car to bring it to its best. You may also notice the full stainless-steel exhaust, which not only looks great, but makes a wonderful noise to boot. We have fitted two new batteries, a new brake calliper and hose and donned 4 new Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres - so that the car is ready to turn on and just go and enjoy!
The car has a full years MOT.
