This particular car in its fantastic colour combination has led a cossetted life. Freshly out of long-term ownership, where it has been taken care of regardless of cost by the same garage for the last 11 years. It has all 3 keys still, its original service booklet stamped and up to date with the last service at 63,986 miles, this car wants for nothing and is about as good an example as you’re ever likely to find.

 

We have worked on quite a few X100 cars here at HPC and I have personally owned a 4.2 XKR and can honestly say that this car has by far the healthiest engine and gearbox of any that I’ve had the pleasure of driving. Gently burbling away with its factory standard exhaust at idle, when the windows are closed, you’d barely know it was running. Sport mode on the gearbox works exactly as intended too, which is another rare find.

 

All of the standard items to worry about on these X100 cars have already been sorted by way of preventative maintenance. Even a new headlining fitted in 2018. The all-important chains and tensioners have already been done at 44,300 miles too.

 

The car has new rear wheel bearings, a battery in 2019 and has been fully detailed by us in order for the new owner to be able to hop in and enjoy until its next service is due comfortable in the knowledge that the car is mechanically as good as is physically possible.

 

The paintwork now shines wonderfully, though does show some age-related marks and stone chips, these do not detract from the overall aesthetic of the car. In direct sunlight the paint almost changes colour and has a petrol-blue hue to it, the side on shot here really shows it off, a truly stunning and rare choice.

 

As well as being quiet and extremely comfortable, do not forget that these are blisteringly quick cars. With the supercharger whine making its way into the cabin as the revs rise, a sweet sound isn’t the only noticeable effect, you’re thrusted towards the horizon at quite a rate of knots.
