An e28 was where it all started for me. My parents had a 525e when I was small and it was always my favourite car they had. That shark nose, the six-cylinder engine note, ride quality and comfort to rival even the best in today’s market (if not better it) they literally have it all. So, when the opportunity arose to buy one myself at the tender age of 22, I had to take it. It was a slippery slope. My first classic, used as a daily driver, super reliable, quick and smooth, plus the drop dead gorgeous looks I was the envy of all of my friends. I don’t think any car has before or since mated aggressive styling with class in a better manner.
When I’d had my time with it, I gave it to my best friend and now business partner, Chris, as I wanted him to become addicted to classic BMWs in the same way I had. Needless to say, it worked a treat!
Perhaps then it was fate that the first car we picked up to restore as HPC classics was an E28. We decided immediately that this one would get all of the love it deserved and now it presents and drives just as you’d imagine an almost new e28 would. This could be shown at any classic car or BMW event with pride, or used as the perfect classic daily driver, just as I did with many smiles along the way. Whichever you choose, you’ll get appreciative smiles and waves with every turn you take.
A decent history file accompanies this car, with service history from new now bound in our special leather folder, plus the original BMW book pack, complete and stamped up to date, which is great to see.
This car originally came with a velour interior, but has been upgraded to a “lux” leather interior by the previous owner, which is in generally lovely condition all round. As mentioned, we wanted the car to be at its best and ready for the new owner to go and enjoy, so here’s the list of what we have done to the car for your peace of mind and wherever possible all original BMW parts:
